Tyler's Tribe

July 2020, at the age of 26, local Carlsbad surfer Tyler Decker
was diagnosed with ALS.

DZYNIT is a proud supporter of Tyler's Tribe and has joined him on his journey to be the miracle and find a cure.

"I’ve always loved the ocean. By the age of three, I learned to surf and since then I’ve never stopped.  While I can no longer surf, I still spend almost every day at the beach longing for the day I can get back on a board."

What is ALS?

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a rare neurological disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of voluntary muscle movement (chewing, walking, talking, and breathing). ALS is a rapidly progressive disease with no known cause, and no cure. Most live about 3 to 5 years after they experience their first signs of the disease, and only 1 in 10 people live with it for more than 10 years. There are treatments out there that have been proven to help with the progression of the disease, but unfortunately they are not approved by the FDA.
